Marrying extension

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 25.

Approved non-religious groups will be able to nominate people to officiate at marriage ceremonies, if an amendment to the Marriage Act the Minister of Justice intends to propose is passed. The national secretary of the Humanist Society (Ms Barbara Miller) says Dr Finlay has told her group he intends to introduce this amendment.

Fumigant.— The poisonous gas, chloropicrin, will be added to the list of recog- | nised dangerous fumigants I wheh an amendment to the Fumigant Regulations of 1967 is enacted. The amendment is being proposed by the Health Department, influenced by an incident last month in Avondale, Auckland, when homes were cleared one Sunday night after some of the gas i escaped from a greenhouse.
