A court in Tel Aviv has sentenced Joshua Ben Zion, former general manager of [the Israel-British Bank, to 12 [years in prison on charges of ; embezzling $47,000,000. The court described the offences as of “unprecedented
gravity,” but also took account of defence pleas for mitigation on grounds of Ben Zion’s poor health.
He was convicted on January 8, when the Court found him guilty of embezzling the $47,000,000 from bank funds, and transferring it to various companies owned by his fam;«y. I
