Big offering of wool
The offering for the sixth j Christchurch wool sale of 'the season on Wednesday is I probably the best seen fori this time of the year for! several years. The sale will be a big one, I with an entry of more than ; 28,000 bales. The wool is drawn mainly from Canterbury and Marlborough, but there is more this time from Nelson and the West Coast, and there is a representation from the! Chatham Islands.
The wool is generally well; grown but there is some tenderness and also colour showing in the selection. With the rather better tone of the market, there are hopes for a much better clearance to the trade than has lately been the case in Christchurch. It is forecast that most of the crossbred wool will go into commercial hands, and it is hoped that the sale will also see the trade take more of the halfbred wool.
The order of sale is: Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd; Wrightson N.M.A., Ltd; New Zealand Farmers’ Co-oper-ative Association of Canterbury, Ltd; and Dalgety New Zealand, Ltd.
