DROWNING

(N.Z. Press Association I WHANGAREI. Jan. 27, A young man drowned in heavy surf at Waimamaku Beach, just below Hokianga Harbour on Northland’s west coast, yesterday. He was Alvin Eric Pentecost, aged 22. a farmer from Stoke, who had been living on a nearby commune.

He was swimming with a party of friends when he was caught by a large wave.
