Eknath Solkar led a grim Indian batting display on fho fourth day of the fifth and decisive cricket test against the West Indies.
Only 66 runs came In the two hours before lunch—Solkar took an hour to move from ♦8 to his first tost hundredend at the end of the momIng session India was 237 for three In reply to West Indies first Innings of 604 for six declared.
India's main object at this stage was to save the followon and they still needed 148 runs to do this.
Solkar and Gundappa Viswanath were both dropped.
