Convicted driver loses job
<X.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A bus driver who was convicted in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday of assaulting a Henderson schoolboy was dismissed by the Auckland Regional Authority yesterday. “We have no alternative but to dispense -with his services.” said the chairman of the A.R.A. passenger transport committee (Mr J. Allsopp-Smith). The Auckland Public Passenger Transport Union had agreed to the dismissal, he said. “The union concurred that we could not continue to emplov this man. He pleaded ■guilty.”
