Power change in Bangladesh?

Members of the ruling Awami League Party have voted to give the Bangladesh Prime Minister (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) blanket powers to deal with the problems facing the country. The Chief Whip of the party (Shah Moazzem Hossain, has declined to elaborate on a brief statement, but political sources say that important legislation on the Constitution may be introduced when Parliament reopens on Saturday.
