$NZ67m AID
TN. Z.P. A. Reuter—Copyright) BRUSSELS, Jan. 23. The European Economic Community has decided to pay the equivalent of SNZ67m towards a United Nations emergency fund to help the poorest developing countries. One-third of the sum will be paid directly into a United Nations account, and the remainder will be given bilaterally to countries worst hit by dearer oil-import bills. E.E.C. member-countries have already pledged to pay nearly SNZIS2m bilaterally to the worst-hit countries, and the Community itself has given about SNZ3Bm in food aid. The financial and food aid will be closely reviewed in June to make sure that it conforms to the criteria laid dnwn hv the
United Nations, and goes to countries named on that body’s list.
