TIMARU, Jan. 14.
A search party will leave Timaru early tomorrow morning to investigate the possible sighting of the wreckage of a light aircraft at the headwaters of the Rangitata River. The party, which will include two constables and two Dunedin deerstalkers, will be taken into the area by Landrover. The searchers will then have to climb for two to three hours to the head of the rugged Carney’s Creek in the Havelock Valley before they will be able to sight the wreckage.
