Sydney fire
A fire in a discount store called the "Dinkum Fair” caused chaos in central Sydney today as police evacuated an adjacent giant shopping complex and closed surrounding streets. Firemen took six hours to control the blaze, during which traffic was snarled in one of the worst jams in memory. Several firemen and shoppers were treated for smoke effects, but there were no injuries.—Sydney, January 14.
