An altercation between two jockeys after a division of the Gilbert Memorial at Kumara on Saturday has resulted in one or them being suspended for two m phriip Smith, rider of Grey Lonzo. was charged with misconduct after being involved in an incident with David Reed (Zend Avesta) after dismounting m the birdcage and again in the weighing room. . , . < There Reed was knocked to the ground by a punch thrown by Smith. Smith was suspended for two months up to and including March 11. The judicial committee stated that it was alarmed that such serious misconduct had taken place.
