Bursary rise hinted

(N.Z. Press Association > AUCKLAND, Jan. 13. The Minister of Education (Mr Amos) hinted tonight that he might soon take action on recent calls by student leaders for an increase in the value of university bursaries. Mr Amos said that the New Zealand University Students’ Association had made submissions to the University Grants Committee regarding an increase. The committee would soon report to him on its findings. He believed there wu a case for an increase, as general costs of living had risen, said the Minister. He added that he was still considering the case for a standard tertiary bursary . (Standard bursary problems, Pago 12)
