CENTURY TO S. RATTRAY IN WOMEN’S CRICKET
S. Rattray (St Albans I) scored an unbeaten 110 when the last match of the first round In the Christchurch senior women's cricket competition started on Saturday, St Albans I was able to declare at 141 for five wickets against Mai Moa, which had made 57 for seven wickets at stumps.
Hagley had made 112 for eight at stumps in reply to St Albans 11, which was out for 102. V. McGregor top-scored for St Albans II with 38. H. Kirk was the best Hagley bowler taking four wickets. She was also top scorer In her side’s first Innings, with 33.
On a very poor pitch at Cashmere, the home team was dismissed for 73. K. Hadlee, making good use of the ample lift, ended with the excellent figures of seven for 25. Western fared little better and declared its innings closed at 75 for eight. Cashmere had lost a further wicket by stumps.
