New comedy
Leslie Phillips is the star of "Casanova ’73” a new series, in a role that he has virtually made his own. He plays Henry Newhouse, a twentieth century libertine who although married, still feels an irresistible urge to make advances to attractive young women. In the opening episode Henry panics when he realises that his wife may intercept letters from an air hostess friend who has promised to write to him every day.
The script-writers are Alan Simpson and Ray Galton, who first rose to fame as writers for the late Tony Hancock in the original “Hancock’s Half Hour” radio shows and then went on to create “Steptoe and Son.” “Casanova ’73,” will begin screening on Saturday evening. '
