Auckland yacht wins

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. An Auckland yacht, L’Aquilon, sailed by Allan Gilbert and ’ Craig Milburn, won the national Junior Cherub championship off Howick yesterday. Gilbert, with a win in the final heat of the contest, had four wins in the five races for his score. Sagitta (Edward Snowden and Paul Mclntosh), from Canterbury, was second yesterday, with Enigma (Nick Page and Tim Workman), from Wellington, third. Sagitta, with a five-race series of three seconds and two thirds, was second in the contest, with Pampero (Peter Kettlwell), of Wellington, third, with a first, a second, and three, fourths counting. Eighteen yachts — six each from Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury — sailed the contest in predominantly light airs. '
