WATER AND SOIL CONSERVATION ACT 1967 NOTIFICATION is hereby given that pursuant to Section 23 o£ the Water and Soil Conservation Act, 1967 the National Water and Soil Conservation Authority on the sth of November, 1974, granted the Minister of Works and Development the following rights for a period expiring on the 30th of April 1963:— (a) To divert up to 1.0 cumecs of river water from the Waiau River at about map reference 855:383602 into a ponding area and to discharge the water so diverted back into the river at approximately the same map reference. (b) To take up to 38,800 cubic metres per day for up to 20 days per month at a rate of up to 0.45 cumecs from the ponding area, at about map reference 555:383602 to serve Irrigators in the proposed Walareka Downs Irrigation Scheme. (c) To discharge excess irrigation water at a rate of up to 0.45 cumecs into Bourne Stream at about map reference 555:441610. (d) To discharge excess irrigation water at a rate, of up to 0.45 cumecs into the Stanton River at about • map reference 555:458617. Appeals against all or any part of this decision may be lodged with the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board, P.O.
