Efficient work

Sir, — To the linemen, cablemen, telephone men, Electricity Department staff, Post Office men, police, traffic officers, and ambulance men we say thanks for the way in which they moved silently and efficiently about their jobs on Thursday after an accident in Balgay Street. Vehicles of many descriptions helped in the work of replacing a telegraph pole where the old one had been damaged, causing telephones nearby to be cut off. Within an hour the men mentioned, and their various ponderous, but effective machinery moved in to untangle wires, to cut wires hanging loosely, and to replace the old pole with the new. Thank you team for the way you worked at that hour of the night. — Yours, etc., AN ONLOOKER. January 2, 1975.
