Shortage of board
More than 400 University of Canterbury students will require private board in Christchurch next year. The University of Canterbury’s accommodation officer (Miss A. Borrie) said yesterday that she had had to tell 300 students that places were not available for them in university or church hostels. “Now that the university is at Ham. students will have to be prepared to travel more from their private boarding places,” Miss Barrie said. “There are excellent students union facilities and ! study areas so that students ;do not need to travel fre- ! quently each day to and from j their private board.”
