Fighting less
Fighting has tapered off across South Vietnam, only one clash being reported in the fertile Mekong Delta, south-west of Saigon, the military command has reported. A communique from the command claimed 67 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong were killed near the provincial capital of Vi Thanh, 125 miles south-west of Saigon, when Communistled forces assaulted Government infantry and armoured units. The attack was repulsed. the command said. — ! Saigon, Dec. 30.
