GILMOUR RESUMES
The Commonwealth Games 800 metres representative, Alan Gilmour, who had a tendon operation during a visit to Sweden earlier this year, has resumed running “a couple of miles a day.” He intends to start serious training next winter in preparation for the following track season. “My leg is quite all right now. It is just a little weak,” Gilmour said. Gilmour is a former Canterbury 800 and 1500 metres champion. He won Games selection with a fine second placing to Stuart Melville (Otago) in the New Zealand 800 metres championship final last season.
