2 golf pros put out

(X.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Two regular tour professionals, I. Stanley and G. Wolstenholme, were disqualified from the fifth Otago Charity Golf Classic when they reported back half an hour late for the third round of the tournament yesterday morning. Wolstenholme accepted the news with a philosophical attitude, but Stanley seemed upset enough to carry out his stated intention to return to Australia and quit the remainder of the New Zealand circuit. Malloy also arrived late for his thirdjround start, but only by 10 minutes—within the 20 minutes grace allowed by the tournament rules. Under the rules this infringement left Malloy liable to a penalty of two strokes. The penalty is not mandatory, and in view of communication difficulties at the clubhouse on Saturday evening, and Malloy’s explanation for his lateness, the match committee imposed a penalty of one stroke.
