QUEEN’S MEDAL
' Wing Commander G. C. Derbv (Auckland), who won the R.N.Z.A.F. Queen’s Medal in 1963, led this year’s shooting contest at West Melton .'yesterday after six of the scheduled nine matches. He led with 229 points, ahead of Warrant Officer M. J. Ross (Ohakea), champion last year.
Warrant Officer R. A. Stowell, a cadet force instructor from Tauranga, was third with 208 points, and Corporal C. F. Parkinson (Auckland), fourth with 200. The remaining three matches will be shot this morning. j
