Youth’s death in riverbed

The name of a youth found shot dead in the Rakaia riverbed, near the eastern end of the traffic bridge, late on Friday evening has been released by the Ashburton police. He was Grant Hunter Miller, aged 18, of 52 Waimairi Road, Christchurch.

Sergeant D. K. Sandes said that the fatality occurred some time before 10.10 p.m. There were no suspicious circumstances.
