South Vietnam took the first rubber against South Korea in the Davis Cup (eastern zone) match yesterday, and was leading by one set to nil in the second, when play ended for the day. Ta Duy Bau beat Young Ho Chung, the South Korean captain, 6-2, 4-6, 0-6, 8-6, 6-4, and Vo Van Thanh was leading 7-5 against Sung Bai Kim. The winner will meet New Zealand in the next round in Auckland on November 29.
