Fifteen men, including two former Cabinet Ministers, were found guilty in Freetown last night of treason, and were sentenced to death by firing squad.
A jury of 12 men brought in a unanimous verdict against a former Minister of Finance, Mohamed Sorie Fomah, and 14 others charged with plotting for more than a year to overthrow the Government of Sierra Leone. The main act with which the 15 were charged was an attack that destroyed the official residence of the Minister of Finance (Mr Christian Kamara-Taylor) last July 29.
