Chance for Rebel Caste
Rebel Caste, one of three last-start winners In the field, may prove more than a match for some other well-performed candidates in the Waikouaiti Cup tomorrow. As well as those with wins at their most recent appearances, several others have worthwhile form to their credit, and betting in the race should be well spread. Rebel Caste broke through for a deserved win at Motukarara on October 12, his effort suggesting that the stranger opposition he will encounter in this race will not trouble him. True Fortune — a decisive jwinner at Oamaru last Satur-
day — Chatterton, Junior Armbro, Armbro King, Katrina Del, and Wynnum Lord are front-markers expected to race prominently. However, if Armbro Circle — unbeaten in his last five starts — receives a reasonable run, his handicap of 20m is unlikely to prove prohibitive. He has made rapid progress through the classes this spring and looks capable of further promotion. Palestine, too, must be respected from the same handicap. He was second to the highly-regarded Lunar Chance at Forbury Park on October 12 at his latest start. Ben Trovato, Avenge, and Ra, a stablemate of Rebel Caste, look to be three of the better chances in the Presi-
■ dent’s Handicap, the second , leg of the double. Franmural, : Looking Over, and Loch End are others expected to add interest to the finish.
