The Chicago police early today arrested Ralph Marrera, aged 31. on a Federal warrant charging him in the largest cash burglary in the nation’s history — an estimated SUS4.3m theft from an armoured express company vault. He was arrested after being sought by thousands of law-enforcement officers. Marrera was the security guard on duty last week-end when SUS4.3m in 10. 20 and 50-dollar bills were taken from the vault owned by the Purolator Armoured Express Company. He was questioned repeatedly, but maintained that he was innocent despite having failed a lie-detector test. On Thursday, he disappeared, but was found in the early hours of this morning at the home of his mother-in-law, who had telephoned the police to report that he was there.
