Those plants worth pari- ticular notice are arum lillles, libertla, azaleas and primulas. Leaf shades and foliage forms are varied and attractive addt ing a lot of colour and intera est to this area. A few examples of foliage plants are hosta, ligularla. and the giant e rhubarb or gunnera. .. Across the river in the Woodlands area, the Primula Garden is providing a good ,1 display of colourful flowers, ■s Many interesting plants are growing very well in this area ,> and include rhododendron :s species, paeonia and primula. The most prominent flowering shrubs at this time are s the groups of “Azalea Mollis.” 1 These deciduous shrubs pro>e vide a spectacular display of colourful blooms which vary in colour from lemon through to red. The main group of I "Azalea Mollis” is in the a Western Section of the e grounds. Other plants worthy of note a this week include Ceanothus e (Californian lilac), rhododendron. viburnum. Comus (Dogwood). lilac. Two small trees of particular note are Davie dia involucrata the Ghost •° tree or pocket handkerchief a " tree which is in the Rock Garden (Map ref.
