Lister in pro-am
J. M. Lister will play in at least one of the three pro-am events in Canterbury after the Garden City Classic in December. Lister, who made a splendid finish in the New South Wales open tournament during the week-end, is a definite entrant in the $lOOO Harewood Golf Club Pro-Am on December 15, the club professional (R. S. McDonald) said yesterday. The tournament has drawn sponsors who have purchased each of the 18 holes, and it will also carrv. for the professionals, a $2OOO incentive to hole in one at the 201-yard thirteenth. The club is also selling, for $2O each, patronage privileges of playing with a pro-! fessional in the one-dayl event.
Lister is among the professionals who will remain in New Zealand after the main 'professional circuit ends, to take part in the New Zealand P.G.A. championship which jwill begin on January 5.
