I "Halfway Up the Tree.” a i three-act comedy by Peter; Ustinov, will be presented 1 by the Ashburton Repertory! Society on October 16, 17, i and 18. Alex Henderson, of Christchurch, is the producer. The original production, in London in 1967, under the direction of Sir John Gielgud, was hailed as a witty, sophisticated comedy. The play is about the ! over-reaction of a distinguished English soldier who returns from years of service abroad to find that his friends and family are caught up in the “permissive society.”
