Good win by Rumania (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BUCHAREST. Rumania’s Rugby union team beat a full-strength French international side by 15 points to 10 in Bucharest, after trailing 3-6 at half time. When the wing threequarter, Gourdon, went over for a try shortly after halftime, the French led 10-3. But in the space of two minutes the Rumanians added nine points and sealed victory with a penalty in the closing minutes.

France led 6-0 after penalties by Romeu in the fourth and twentieth minutes, but the Rumanian centre, Nica, reduced the lead . with a penalty just before the interval. When Romeu missed the conversion to Gourdon’s try, the Rumanians applied pressure. The full-back, Durbac, kicked a penalty from 30 metres to take the score to 10-6, and then the centre, Marica, scored a try, converted by Durbac, to put the Rumanians in front, 12-10. In the final minutes another penalty kick from Durbac clinched Rumania’s fourth victory against France in the last 14 years.

Running.—M. Telford (Auckland) has covered 141 miles in two days since leaving Sydney to run to Melbourne. Telford is suffering from sunburn and has a sore ankle.

Tennis.—The United States won} its 1975 Davis Cup match against ( Commonwealth Caribbean in Nassau, 5-0. h
