Fatal stampede
Two women died and more than 30 persons were injured in a stampede of people at the entrance of the Rio de Janeiro zoo yesterday. One witness said that when a pickpocket tried to escape after robbing a woman, the two women were trampled in the melee caused by people trying to grab him, i i but another witness said that : i panic broke out when crowds ilof people trying to get into - the zoo ran into other crowds I trying to get out. —Rio de I Janeiro, Oct. 14.
