'No further restraints'

r.v.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 3. The Government was not planning any more econ-, omic restraints, said the Acting Prime Minister (Mr Tizard) today. A review of the economy would be published within about two weeks, he said at a press confer- ; ence. This review would set out the Government’s views ! on the economic situation, i likely prospects and some I background material. The Prime Minister (Mr Rowling) would help with the final draft after his re-

turn from the South Pacific next week. “It will be a fairly brief review highlighting the problems as we see them,” Mr Tizard said. The Government was basing its economic management on recommendations by the International Monetary Fund and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development to their member countries, warning against precipitate action which could affeet world trade. “New Zealand is not in a dangerous situation,” Mr Tizard said, “but we can’t afford to let it slip any further.”
