ROADSHOW
Roadshow, which is touring with Bo Diddley, comprises four of New Zealand’s most seasoned musicians — Shane, Jimmy Hill, Dave Russell, and George Barris. Shane is well known as the winner of the 1969 Gold Disc with “Saint Paul,” and he received a silver disc in Germany for the same song. He has a total of six albums to his credit and 10 years experience as a professional singer. Jimmy Hill first attained fame as the drummer with Ray Columbus’ Invader*. Since then he has worked with Max Merritt, Tommy Adderley, and Christian, Walker, Hamlet, and Hill. Dave Russell also played
with the Invaders and Max Merritt's Meteors, touring in Britain and Europe with groups such as The Doors and the Moody Blues. He returned to New Zealand late last year to join forces with Shane, with whom he was associated in England. George Barris has played the bass guitar for almost 10 years with bands like Jig Saw, Tommy Fergussons Good Time Band and the Trouble Minds. The four now fit neatly into what is likely to be their biggest success yet. As Roadshow, demand for them is growing throughout New Zealand and their first single, due out shortly, will take them to a much wider audience.
