MEDICAL FITNESS: Appointees will be required to pass a prei entry medical examination. TRAINING: Successful applicants will attend a departmental course of instruction from January to November, 1975, covering communications operating practices and procedures and other allied subjects to Communicator qualifying standard. After graduation further practical familiarisation training will be given at Communications Centres in either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, and at selected aerodrome field units prior to posting to ' full operational duties which initially will be to - one of the main Communications Centres. The ( training programme continues up to the third year , of operational service during which time all cadets attend a second formal training course of tuition for completion of the Communications Officer qualification which is a prerequisite for advancement to supervisory positions. SALARY: Commencing salary will depend on educa- • tional qualification. Progression is by way of annual increments with further advancement on - merit, while employed on Communicator duties. Opportunities exist for accelerated advancement , within the scale. There are additional payments made for work performed on week-ends, public holidays, and at night. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Department of Education standard for entry t to Form VI preferably with passes in English and Mathematics but applicants sitting this year will also be consdered. BOND: Cadets will be bonded on completion of their initial training course in 1975 to serve in the N.Z. Public Service for a period of 3 years.
