New Zealand Cement profit lower

(Net© Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. The group net profit of New Zealand Cement Holdings, Ltd, fell 2.9 per cent to $1,045,227 in the year to July 31 the directors say in a preliminary report.

The profit comes after provision for taxation, which was $87,460 lower at $620,325 and repreciation, which was and depreciation, which was $13,920 higher at $877,547. The directors said that at balance date, the shareholders’ funds stood at

$10,773,177, $1,798,693 higher than at the same time last year. The directors will recommend a final dividend of 5c a share (5 per cent) making a steady total of 10c a share for the year, ex dividend October 14.
