Education positions

The superintendent of the Education Department’s southern region for the last five years (Mr H. M. McMillan) has taken up a temporary posting at the department’s head office in Wellington.

Mr McMillan will hold the senior post of director of special duties left vacant by the recent retirement of Mr B. M. Pinder until the new director-designate is announced. The present director of the department (Mr A. N. V. Dobbs) will retire early next year and in line with new departmental policy a person to succeed him will be announced soon. The acting superintendent of the southern region is Mr B. J. Wilson, who has been district senior inspector of primary schools for the southern region.
