Wenden to be guest speaker
M. Wenden, the Australian free-style sprinter who retired from swimming al the Commonwealth Games last February will be one of the guest speakers at the New Zaland “Sportsman of the Year” dinner in Christchurch on November 26. Mr P. A. Sharp, a member of the organising committee, said yesterday that Dr J. D. Stewart, the former Canterbury Rugby coach, would be another speaker, and that negotiations were being made to obtain a leading American golfer.
