The New Zealand Davis Cup player, O. Parun, seeded sixteenth, reached the third round of a $76,000 international open tennis tournament yesterday. In the second round, Parun defeated the American, S. Krulevitz, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. R. Ramirez (Mexico), seeded seventh, and H. Solomon (United States), seeded ninth, were surprisingly beaten.

Ramirez, recovering from influenza, gave little trouble to M. Estep (United States), and lost 2-6, 2-6. Solomon was eliminated by P. Cornejo (Chile), 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
