Sports clubs’ tours

Sir, — The wealth of white South Africa is owed almost entirely to its African subjects’ labour. The exploitation queried by “Full Facts”, lies in the enormous disparity between the value of the beggarly wages paid to Africans and the value of the labour received by whites in return. The 50 per cent of white taxes providING THE Bantustans’ amenities, is an opiate affording only temporary alleviation of its addiction, to a national conscience requiring perpetual heavy sedation. The glorified ghettos of the Bantustans are a transparently clumsy attempt to deceive world opinion; to solve South Africa’s fundamental dilemma of how to reap the fruits of exploited black labour, whil excluding Africans from white society, and maintaining the political and economic subjugation of the black majority to the white minority. The Bantustans inflict on Africans the crowning humiliation of a gaol wherein the gaoled are required to be their own gaolers. — 'Yours, etc., M. C. H. I September 24, 1974. ![This correspondence is now i closed.—Editor]
