Flats for students

i Lincoln College will increase its accommodation for students by building flats in double units. The college council agreed yesterday to build five double flat units to provide accommodation for 40 students. They will be sited south-east of the junction of Weedons Road and Ellesmere Junction Road. The money will come from a residential building fund appeal which has about $BO,OOO at its disposal. The council acted on a report from the Lincoln Union and halls management committee which said that present costs of flatting at the college were lower than flatting in town. The costs in town were now comparable with those of living in residential halls at the college. The committee had already received 60 applications for 35 places in student flats next year. The committee considered that for every four students in the halls there should be one in flats.
