Discussionj which have extended over some months between the Racing Conference, the Trotting Conference and the Department of Internal Affairs are likelv to result in the reintroduction of jackpot betting towards the end of the year. The secretary-manager of the Racing Conference (Mr A. R. Algie) said this yesterday, stating that a combined committee of the two conferences liad discussed amendments from the Internal Affairs Department, at a meeting earlier this month. The combined committee would meet again on October 24. when finality was expected to be reached on the regulations. The regulations would then be passed on to the Minister of Internal Affairs through the Racing Authority for approval.
