Lawrence certain starter

G. Lawrence would definitely be driving at the Ruapuna motor race meeting on Sunday, the promoter (Mr E. F. Inwood) said yesterday. However, his Lola T 332, which was damaged in a crash at Surfer’s Paradise recently, may not be ready in time. Lawrence was very keen to compete in the first round of the P. 0.5.8. 5000 series on Sunday, Mr Inwood said, and if the new tub for the Lola did not arrive in time he would probably drive a twolitre Brabham. “This is a very competitive car, especially with Lawrence driving. He is in top form at the moment,” Mr Inwood added. D. Oxton, of Auckland, winner of the gold star series last year, did not enter the first round of this series because his new single-seater had not arrived from Britain.
