I The leading team, BurntideCh r Ist'* College, had an exciti ing tussle with the Christ- | church I side in the latest ! round of the men's A grade 1 sguash-rackets competition for I the Wilson Shield. I The match was in doubt until the final individual match was played, and this, between R. I Blank (Combined) and R Monk ’(Christchurch I), went to five] isets before Blank won , Pointe now are: BurnsideChrist’s College 78, High School Old Bov« I! 64, Christchurch II 58. High School Old Boys 1 50, Christchurch I 34, UniversityChristchurch 30, Sumner 16. AH members of the Burnsidel Christ's College team played well, special credit being earned by L. C. Sparks, who look two games from D. R. Preston. Preston lacked the accuracy which is necessary against Sparks and had to call on all his experience to take the last two games. In the other matches there were no surprises, although J. G. Foulds had to recover from 0-8 in the fourth game against B. V. Hamilton. He won 10 points without dropping a serve C. Van Uden (Sumner) maintained sufficient length to edge out R. McCutcheon (H. 5.0.8. II). MEN Burnside-Christ's College I, Christchurch I 2 L. C. Sparks lost to D R.
