Forest marketing appointment Mr Owen Smith of Rosewiil, Timaru. has joined Forest Marketing Limited, Christchurch as their South Canterbury representative. Mr Smith has long been associated with trees and forestry and is well known to farmers and farm foresters alike for the assistance in design and establishment of properly constructed shelterbelts. He has a long history of representing forest owners in obtaining a fair return for their trees and is a past-president and secretarv of the South Canterbury Farm Forestry Association. At a meeting in Timaru, convened recently by Mr Smith, he stressed the need for co-ordinated marketing among tree-owners, if they are to achieve . realistic returns for their timber. It was at his invitation that the Manager of Forest Marketing Limited came to meet others and discuss their needs. --■ Advt.
