Documents are obtainable from District Engineers Office, Room 201, Second Floor, Christchurch Railway Station Railways 3718 New Zealand Forest Service AERIAL SEEDING WRITTEN tenders are invited from aircraft, operators for aerial sowing of seed and fertiliser over approximately 40 hectares at Mt Fyffe (Kaikoura) and ten hectares at Pudding Hill (Rakaia Gorge). Part of the Mt Fyffe and all of the Pudding Hili areas are more suited for helicopter rather than fixed wing aircraft and operators are to state the make and type of aircraft to be used. Helicopters are to be fitted with a motorised hopper capable of applying the material according to the specifications with an acceptable rate and distribution pattern. A spare hopper is to be readily available. The operation will be subject to fertiliser availability. The contract will be on the standard N.Z. Forest Service form F.S.-D43 which is available on request. Operators are to satisfy themselves that the machine to be used is suitable and the hopper specifications and its swath width capabilities arc to be stated in the tender. Tenders are to be in a sealed envelope clearly endorsed “Tender for Aerial Sowing,” and must state a price per 100 kg for seed and per tonne for fertiliser, and should nominate airstrips to be used.
