Death of journalist
(N.I. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 9. A well-known Wellington and Taranaki journalist and public relations man, Peter Bernard Daly, has died in Wellington, aged 49. He was a former editor of “Straight Furrow” and worked as a public relations executive with the Apple and Pear Board. Mr Daly worked as a senior journalist and as deputy chief reporter on the “Dominion” from 1964 to 1965. For many years he worked for the “Taranaki Daily News.” He ran his own public relations and publishing business for three years. More recently he worked for the Tourist and Publicity Department as a Ministerial and departmental press officer and with the public relations firm of Eric White Associates.
Since 1960 he had been a Dominion councillor on the New Zealand Journalists’ Association, now known as the New Zealand Journalists’ Union, and was a member of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists. ; Mr Daly is survived by his wife and four children. j
