Question on Mr Andersen
(IV.Z. Press Associatioji) WELLINGTON, July 31. It would be premature to say yet whether the Auckland unionist, Mr G. H. Andersen, would still sit on ! the Government’s proposed (committee of inquiry into the I distribution of oil, said the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer) in Parliament I today. | Mr J. B. Gordon (Nat., IClutha) asked if the Government still intended to have Mr Andersen on the commit-! tee, or “if in view of protests by some lawyers, and Mr Andersen’s known beliefs and actions resulting in his spending a period in gaol on a matter pertaining to the distribution of oil, will the Government change the membership forthwith?” Mr Freer- said that for administrative purposes; the committee of inquiry might be reconstituted to a commission of inquiry—and that might result in changes in membership. “It’s premature to say at this stage,” Mr Freer said. Mr Andersen is secretary; of the Northern Drivers’ Union.
