Entry likely for team

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 31. The Minister of Sport, Mr Walding, has said there should be no problem of entry if the Taiwan tennis team qualifies to meet New Zealand in a Davis Cup tie in Auckland this year.

“If they qualify, and if they claim to represent only Taiwan, there shouldn’t be a problem,” Mr Walding said. Mr Walding said that as the Government recognises the People’s Republic of China, it could not accept a Taiwan team which claims to represent all of China.
