Horticultural Society tour

An Australian tour, incorporating many of the country’s well-known parks and reserves, will be undertaken in October by the Canterbury Horticultural Society. The group, which is planned to consist of 30 members, but at present has only 15 enrolled, will leave Christchurch on October 9 and return to New Zealand on October 29. Much of the tour had been arranged with the help of the director of parks in Adelaide, said the society’s secretary (Mr J. C. Fraser). The party will stay in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Adelaide, as well as several more out-of-the--way places. Several natural parks will be visited, as well as Australia’s chief wine-producing -area, the Barossa Valley. I The cost of the tour is 'about $6OO.
